Photonic Materials Technology Section (PMTS)

Photonic & Detector Materials Lab of PMTS has a comprehensive research and development program focused on photonic and detector materials in different forms, such as single crystals, polycrystals, glass, polymer composites, nanocomposites, plastic scintillators and phosphor materials. Dedicated efforts have been made to synthesize the above materials / grow the crystals, and thereafter fabricate device elements from these materials for the targeted end application in the overall domain of photonics and radiation detectors. In addition, advanced experimental facilities required for materials synthesis, crystal growth, and characterization of physical, chemical, thermal and optical properties of the materials have been established.
