Development of phosphors and polymer composites

Red emitting phosphor Mg2GeO4:Mn4+ was prepared by solid state reaction at 1250 °C. Synthesized powder was mixed with special adhesive solution and mixture was coated uniformly on glass plate of dimension 100 X100 mm2.Coated glass plate was irradiated by X-ray in Indus-2 beamline with different aperture sizes and strong red light emission was observed. This plate can be used for beam shape monitoring. Photograph of X-ray irradiated pallet and X-ray irradiated phosphor coated plate are shown in Fig (i) below.

LiTaO3 powder was synthesized via solid-state combustion technique and dispersed in PVDF to prepare composite film. Pure PVDF film and poly crystalline lithium tantalate dispersed films are shown in Fig (ii) below. These films have been prepared for piezoelectric energy harvesting application. Characterizations related energy harvesting application are successfully performed.
