Ultra High Vacuum Technology Section

Ultra High Vacuum Technology Section is responsible for Design, Development, Installation, Commissioning and maintenance of vacuum system and vacuum instrumentation for accelerators at this Centre, such as Microtron, Booster, Indus-1, Indus-2, IRFEL, Industrial Linacs etc.Over the years, it has developeda variety of Ultra High Vacuum components such as vacuum envelopes like dipole chambers, straight section chambers, transport lines, RF shielded bellows, photon absorbers, sputter Ion Pumps, Titanium Sublimation Pumpsetc. It has also developed a range of UHV instruments such as SIP controllers, TSP controllers, Penning gauge head and controllers, BAG controllers, Valve controllers, Temperature monitoring units, Thermocouple interface and control Units, Baking systems and software for coated and uncoated chambers, etc.

To meet all such requirements, UHV Lab is equipped with necessary setups such as pumping speed measurement setup for different pumps, Outgassing measurements setup, RGA calibration setup, BAG Controller calibration setup, NEG coating setup, etc.
