Proton Linac Development Division |
RRCAT has a long term plan to build a 1 GeV pulsed proton accelerator based Indian Facility for Spallation Research (IFSR). The accelerator will consist of a 1 GeV pulsed H negative linear accelerator (linac) followed by 1 GeV proton accumulator ring. The Proton Linac Development Division (PLDD) is involved in the research and development of cutting edge technologies related to linear accelerator components like H negative ion sources (HNIS), Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) systems, Radio Frequency Quadrupoles (RFQs), Medium Energy Beam Transport (MEBT) systems, Drift Tube Linac (DTL) etc. In addition, PLDD is also working on Spoke Resonator, elliptical shaped Superconducting Radio Frequency (SCRF) cavities, spallation target, beam dump, cryostats for superconducting magnets etc. |
