Non-noble metal catalyst for Hydrogen production application

This collaborative work between RRCAT and BARC is aimed towards hydrogen production in environment friendly way. Sulfur – Iodine cycle is an established process for production of hydrogen by sustainable and eco-efficient route. Collaborative work has been initiated between Chemistry Division BARC and PMTS, RRCAT for the development of Non-noble metal catalyst for HI decomposition reaction of Sulfur-Iodine thermochemical cycle. Development of active, stable non-noble catalysts for HI-decomposition reaction is an important requirement for DAE. Bismuth doped high surface area carbon supports will be explored for this application.
