RRCAT_Indore Power Converters Developed by HVSS

-10kV / 100A Solid State Marx Generator

An IGBT based 10 stage Marx bank generator has been developed. A -10 kV/115 A / 120 µs pulse yielding a peak power of more than 1 Mega watt was generated across a 100-ohm load. The 10 cell generator is assembled over a FRP base. Each cell consists of a charging IGBT, a discharging IGBT, a capacitor bank and a freewheeling diode.
