Systems for H- ion Source

c. -20 kV/100 mA constant current arc discharge power supply for H- Ion Source

A bridge inverter with variable frequency control feeds an LCL resonant network to achieve the required current control. The output feeds a 3 stage symmetrical Cockraft Walton based multiplier through a high voltage centre tapped transformer (250 V / 5 kV-0-5kV). While the output current is controlled by varying the operating frequency in the range of 26 to 40 kHz, the device switching is kept in the ZVS region.

d. Remote control unit for -80 kV / 240 mA HV Supply

The developed remote control unit controls and monitors the operation of a 80 kV supply. It controls and monitors the on/off, enable/disable and set high voltage operations.

e. Air cored -80 kV / 100 mA prototype HV generator

The three stage voltage doubler based 80 kV / 100 mA prototype air core HV generator is developed and tested up to – 80kV. The prototype is operated in closed loop using variable frequency voltage mode control method.
