Indus-1 Synchrotron Radiation Source (SRS) beam current display and distribution system

Indus-1 beam current display and distribution system has been designed and developed to display beam current information on LED based dot matrix display and produces 0-10V analog output corresponds to 0-500 mA beam current at each beam line user experimental station. The system is successfully implemented in Indus complex in year 20xx for 5 beam lines. It is expanded for 2 more beam lines in succeeding years. Presently 7 beam lines of Indus-1 are using it. This system was continuously enhanced and presently serves as back bone for data-logging, web display, measurement of beam life time and limiting beam injection into Indus-1 storage ring. It is designed on Distributed Control System (DCS) philosophy using RS485 communication link. The master module of this system broadcasting beam current information continuously and each receiver displays this information. This report present salient features, specifications and technical details of the system.

Beam current signal is being received from Indus-1 DCCT controller as an input to this system. This signal is further sampled by beam current display and distribution system and distributes over RS485 communication link to all Indus-1 beam line experimenting stations. Indus-1 DCCT controller gives 0 to 10V output with respect to 0 to 500 mA beam current and same is reproduced at all beam lines together with digital display.
