Accelerator Controls & Beam Diagnostics Division
Web Based Applications

Following web based applications have been developed for indus subsystems developers, beam line users, operation crew members, system administrators and general users. These applications operate in the intranet environment using three tiers software architecture and mainly uses HTML, JavaScript, Java Server Pages (JSP), JavaBeans and SQL databases for designing its various building blocks. Java Server Pages, which act between client and data tier were chosen to implement the middle tier. Stored Procedures have been used by Java Beans for quickly retrieving the machine generated data stored in high availability databases.

Indus OnLine Web Portal

This web portal has been developed for online providing the live, historical, and statistical data of Indus Accelerators in tabular, graphical and synoptical format over RRCAT-Intranet. More than 15,000 parameters logged in central database server can be queried and retrieved using this web portal. This site also provides the functionality to query and download the csv format raw data on local machine so that it could be used by other data analysis tools to understand the behavior of the machine. Some of the important functions of the portal are as follows:

  • Beam loss probe
  • Data diagnostics
  • Multi parameter graph display
  • Live synoptic display
  • Beam trip analyzer
  • 3D trend plotting
  • Data download

Indus Fault Log Book (FLogbook)

FLogbook has been developed for tracking the faults occurred during round the clock operations of Indus-1 and Indus-2. Salient features of FLogbook are as follows:

  • Accessibility from within Campus network (RRCATNet)
  • Authentication using RRCAT Mail Server credentials
  • Comprehensive dynamic device list
  • Grab the screenshot in single mouse click (using snapshot module)
  • Log the fault related information with attachment (e.g. image, doc, excel, etc)
  • Email the logged fault with attachment to concerned persons
  • Unique fault-id for every logged fault
  • Search the logged faults according to date, system name, search string, etc
  • Acknowledge & email the expert comments on the specific fault to other concerned persons
  • Online fault statistics generation
  • Restricted editing & deletion of fault entries
  • Daywise report generation
