The physics of beams is the theoretical and experimental study of particle and photon beams, particularly their interaction with matter, with radiation, and with each other. It encompasses a wide range of fields including electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, nonlinear dynamics and solid-state electronics. This school will give an introduction to some of the more important and interesting areas.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, and be below the age of 26. Participation is restricted to 30 participants, for whom II/AC train fare and local expenses will be paid. Applications should include biodata and at least one letter of recommendation, and can be sent by post, fax, or email.
