Information and Guidelines
Location:
The Venue of PLD-2001 is Centre for Advanced Technology,
Indore. Indore is well connected by
air, rail and road. CAT campus is
situated at the South Western end of the Indore city and is about 13 kms. away
from airport as well as Indore railway station. Pre-paid taxi (Auto Rickshaw) fare from airport and railway
station to CAT Campus are about Rs.100/- and Rs.50/- respectively.
Weather:
The weather in Indore during November is pleasant during
the day and cold in the night. Please bring warm clothing with you.
Registration Fee and intimation of participation:
The registration fee for participation is as follows:
Students : Rs.150/-
Registration
fee is payable in cash at the time of registration at the venue of the meet.
Please confirm your participation in the meet and intimate
the secretary about your dates of arrival and departure at the earliest and
latest by September 28,2001.
Accommodation:
Accommodation
will be arranged in the CAT Guesthouse, which is located at a convenient
distance from the venue of the meet.
Please intimate the Secretary if you need accommodation in the
guesthouse latest by September 28, 2001.
Technical Programmes:
The technical programmes of this meet will consist of
Invited talks by leading experts and young researchers in the field, Evening
talks of perspective nature, a small presentation on collaborative project
funding by the BRNS representative and an open discussion with students and
industries. A tentative schedule of the technical sessions is enclosed
herewith.
If you are interested in presenting posters you are
encouraged to do so. Although there is no official poster session scheduled
during this meet so far, we will be glad to make arrangements to display your
posters. The poster should consist of
the detailed work of individual and/or group activity. Interested persons are
requested to intimate the secretary latest by September 28, 2001.
Lab. Visits:
Lab. visits will be arranged on 26th & 27th November
2001 and will include visit of the PLD Lab., Synchrotron Radiation Source
(INDUS-I) and Thin Film Characterization Facilities at CAT and at Inter
University Consortium for DAE Facilities (IUC), Indore as per the schedule
enclosed herewith.
Proceedings:
A copy of the proceedings containing the papers of the
invited talks will be made available at the time of registration.
Financial Assistance:
We strongly recommend you to arrange your registration and
travel costs from your institute or project grants etc. In case you are unable
to do so you may apply to the secretary for a financial support. A few such
requests may be entertained for travel cost as per the BRNS guidelines. Please submit a realistic estimate of the
travel cost at the most by sleeper class of the train along with your
application. The last date for the receipt of your application by the secretary
is 28th September 2001.
We also strongly recommend you to arrive at CAT one day
prior to the meet i.e. November 25, 2001 (Sunday) and be with us at least till
the late evening of the last day i.e. November.28, 2001.
