About Raja Ramanna Centre forAdvanced Technology (RRCAT)

It is a unit of DAE engaged in R & D in the front line research areas of Lasers, Particle Accelerators & related advanced technologies as well as their applications. The Centre has indigenously designed, developed, and commissioned two synchrotron radiation sources, Indus-1 and Indus-2, serving as a national facility. The Centre is also pursuing activities in industrial lasers and accelerators, cryogenics, materials development, RF & control instrumentation, ultrahigh vacuum etc. The RRCAT campus is spread over 760 hectares in a picturesque site on the outskirts of Indore city and encompasses laboratories, staff housing colony, school, sports facilities, shopping complex, gardens as well as the Sukhniwas palace and a lake.
